Creative Summit 2012 inspiration overdoze

Last week the fifth edition of Creative Summit – under the midnight sun, was held in Skellefteå and everyone within the creative industries from Norr- and Västerbotten were found onsite. As always the event offered great speakers from all over the world, all of them bringing inspiration and raising thoughts for the audience.

The speakers this year were:

• Alf Rehn – professor and business thinker
• Jonathan Harris – digital antropologist and artist
• Alfredo Aponte – North Kingdom
• Jesse Schell – Schell Games
• Helge Tennö – Dinamo
• Gustav Martner – CP+B
• John MacDonald – who filled in when Olivia Solon unfortunately was indisposed with one day’s notice.

The moderator for the conference was Sveinung Skaalnes, from Hyper Island, and he did a great job.

One thing that made #CreSum12 magic was that despite it having rained for weeks before with low temperatures, when it was time for CreSum the weather gods turned out to be on our side once again. Blue skies, sun shining all day and all night showing off Skellefteå and northern Sweden from the best possible side. Amazing summer nights  with interesting discussions and meeting new people.

The only downside was that there were only guys talking, but for next year the organizers promised that the line-up would be female only. So, although this year’s conference is just passed I know that there are many of us who are already looking forward to Creative Summit 2013.
