Umeå University again #1 in Sweden and the Nordic region in young universities ranking

Umeå University is the highest ranking university in Sweden. Umeå University is also ranked 24th in the world in the 2014/15 ‘QS Top 50 under 50’ league table. This represents a top ranking among higher education institutions in Sweden and the Nordic countries. The ranking list focuses on the highest performing young institutions established in the past 50 years.
- We celebrate our 50th anniversary next year and we will no longer be listed in the QS Top 50 under 50. But we can truly be happy that we performed with flying colours in our final year – as we are ranked 24th among the best young universities, says Lena Gustafsson, Vice-Chancellor of Umeå University, in a press release.
QS Top 50 under 50′ ranks the leading universities in the world that are under 50 years old. This ranking – which QS started in 2012 – aims to highlight relatively newly established universities already making a big impact in the global rankings.
